~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GETTING VALUE
FROM YOUR WEBSITE TO MARKET
YOURSELF & YOUR WORK
October 4, 1 pm -
4:30 pm
Stratford Town Hall
presented by Paul
Lima
Many creators rely
on websites as aids to marketing themselves and their work, but how
effective are they? Whether
seeking buyers for books, or marketing services as a writer, a
web site is a cost‑feasible tool that is easy to use. The trick
is to make it work for you. Canadians can be conducting searches at any
time of the day, or night. With that in mind, how would you answer the
following:
- Is your Web site
indexed in major search engines?
- Does it rank in
the top 10 when Web surfers use your key words or phrases?
- Is your Web site
optimized for keyword searches?
- Do you know what
your key words and phrases are?
To Optimize Web
sites for the best possible search engine results, you need to
understand how search engines index and rank sites, Lima tells
participants what they need to know and how to apply simple,
cost‑effective (most of them free!) SEO techniques to boost Web site
rank in Search Engine results. COOKBOOKS FOR
CHRISTMAS OR OTHER
UNIQUE GIFT GIVING
October 25, 9am -
4pm
Stratford Town
Hall, Stratford
presented by Julie
V. Watson and Debbie Gamble-Arsenault
What better gift
can you give than something personal. No matter what your idea, cook
books are one of the most popular publishing projects. Imagine:
- the joy your
family will feel when finding not only Grandma’s favourite recipes, but
the memories and pictures to go with them, under the Christmas tree.
- how welcome a new bride will feel when presented with her husband‑to‑be’s favourites along with some enchanting photos from his childhood.
- a household
history treasured by all, especially when old stories and photographs
bring the women of the family to the forefront.
- a newcomer
welcomed with how-to information about local foods and how to prepare
them. Perhaps you are
planning a community project; a fund raiser for a non‑profit
organization, or a for‑profit entity.
Join our group for
a session on designing and printing personal cookbooks that are fun,
meaningful, and priced to fit your own budget. Bring along recipes,
photos and memories or stories and scrapbooking supplies if you wish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Instructor Paul
Lima, author of the book, “Do you Know Where Your Website Ranks? How to
Optimize Your Website for the Best Possible Search Engine Results” will
lead a full day workshop.
Lima says, “Where do people go when they hit the Web? About 85% of the
Canadian Internet population goes to search engines at least once a
month; 75% of the U.S. Internet population does as well). Canadians also
search frequently, conducting almost 600 million searches per month, or
40 searches per search engine user. For more info: www.paullima.com/ or
